HOW VOTING WORKS

Beginning with the first night of the contest, each contestant will be given an opportunity to perform a song of their choice.  At the end of their performance, they will be critiqued by each of the three judges.  The judges will offer feedback on the performance, as well as score the overall performance with a number between 1 (not so good) to 10 (perfect!).  The average of the three judge's scores will serve as 50% of the contestants total score. 

From there, the audience will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite performer.  Boxes will be stationed that will be clearly marked -- one for each performer.  One vote is equal to $1.  Audience guests can vote as many times as they would like for as many contestants as they would like.  At the end of the night, all the votes will be counted, and a percentage of the total votes will be calculated for each contestant.

The contestant(s) with the highest scores (when both the judges score and the voting are totaled together) will pass through to the next round.
